Kids Fun in the Branson Area

  • Posted on

There is FUN for all ages in the Branson Area!  Of course, the FUN depends on the ages of the children, but here are a bunch of FUN activities for kids while you are in town.

  1. Branson's Wild World.  Pet the stingrays, feed the sharks, and play in the lemur's cage and let the lemurs sit on your lap!  Branson's Wild World is an aquarium, a zoo with all kinds of animals, a terrarium with every snake and lizard creature on the continent, I think, and you can finish your adventure off with a game of glow-in-the-dark Putt-Putt Golf.  Great for rainy days and good for all ages of children.
  2. Extreme Go-Carts.  Not for the feint at heart!  These go-carts are FAST!  You must have a valid driver's license to ride, and you must wear a helmet while racing these Indy-type go-carts on the FASTEST track in Branson.  Being a skilled driver is the only way to win at this track!  Tired of go-carts you put your foot to the floor, and it can barely get out of its own way?  Then Extreme Go-Carts is your challenge!  Put your foot to the floor in one of these go-carts and you'll find yourself spun out in the corner as the field passes you by.
  3. Fritz's Adventure.  This is a kid's playground on steroids!  It is a tethered ropes course that will take them as high as they dare go until they hit a missing section they will need to zip-line to get to safety.  Many turn back at this point with only the daring kids attempting the fate!  They have a 40-foot tall, tethered climbing wall that will challenge the best!  Perfectly safe for even younger kids, yet one path up the wall may defeat even the best rock climbers in the World!  Ages 7 to 17 will LOVE Fritz's Adventure!  They have food stations if the kids get hungry or thirsty along their adventures.  Parents have several seating & table areas they can sit and watch the adventure.
  4. Putt-Putt Golfing.  There are literally a dozen different Putt-Putt Golf Courses in the area.  Maybe two-dozen?  This is a GREAT Family Outing!  Don't miss it!  No Cell Phones for an hour or two!  Family bonding without distractions.  Everyone loves to play Putt-Putt Golf, even if they've never played before!  I'm not going to recommend one over the other, but you should take your Family Putt-Putt Golfing while you are in town.
  5. Silver Dollar City.  Everyone, even adults, love Silver Dollar City.  It's a must do while you are here, no matter how old your children are.  You will enjoy as much as your kids will!
  6. Aquarium At The Boardwalk.  This is a great aquarium right on the Branson Strip.  Kids of all ages enjoy an aquarium!
  7. Fish Hatchery & Dewey Short Visitor Center.  This is a FREE adventure with the kids!  A little hiking below the dam with the kids along the river where you can watch all the fly fishermen and their skills for trout.  Tour the Hatchery and learn how they keep the trout population up.  Great Family Photo opportunities here!  Stroll through the Dewey Short Visitor Center and learn how the lake was made, see all the animals that inhabit the Ozarks and all the fish that live in Table Rock Lake.  Many live aquariums to see.  And it's all for FREE!
  8. Shepherd's Adventure Park.  This is only 10 minutes away from Table Rock Villas on Hwy 76 on your way into Branson on your left-hand side.  $19.95 to get into the Adventure Park but you can find half-price deals around if you look. Tree-top Sky Trail is FUN for all ages!  Lots of different things to do here.  Inspiration Tower, Copperhead Mountain Coaster, Vigilante Extreme Zip-Rider and the Sky Trek Challange Course are all extra activities available at Shepherd's Adventure Park.
  9. Wonder Works.  This is hands-on Science Adventure for Kids!  It is the upside-down house you see along the Branson Strip and your adventure here begins being up-side down.  You can usually find reasonable priced tickets for Wonder Works at the Resort front desk and it's definitely a hands-on learning experience for the kids.
  10. The I-Max Theatre.  On a rainy day, the I-Max is the perfect place to seek refuge!  Indulge yourself and get the electric reclining seats for your 3-D movie experience for a few dollars more!  You won't regret it.  Those loungers are Wonderful!  Make sure you book your ticket for the I-Max Theatre and not one of the other theaters they have at the same complex.  The I-Max is an immersive experience.
  11. Walk Roark Creek.  This is for those Families that like to hike. The trail along Roark Creek will take you past a couple of different waterfalls, places to play on the rocks & the creek, fairly level path for those who don't want to get their feet wet in the creek.  This is downtown Branson, and many people don't know this path is there.  Parking available just off the Blue Route in Branson and you can walk the trail from there.  Roark Creek flows into Lake Taneycomo near the Branson Landing.
